President’s Message
It has indeed been an honor for me to serve my second year as the president of the Louisiana Conference United Women in Faith. I am filled with gratitude. I plan to continue to do my best to serve with integrity.
I’m thankful, grateful, and blessed for the support of the leadership of our conference, district, and local units. It was a challenge my first year as president with disaffiliation and reorganization, but I knew that God did come this far with United Women in Faith to leave us. We know that He is always with us. We will boldly move forward with unspeakable joy to continue to transform the world. Women, children, youth, and mission institutions need our help and we’re not going to let them down. We’ve come this far by faith, leaning on the Lord. We’ve trusted in His holy word, and He’s never failed us yet. We can’t turn around because we’ve come this far by faith.
As United Women in Faith:
We are not afraid to do the right thing by reaching out to others who are different.
– We have strong hearts.
– We have the strength, faith and grace to change the world.
– It is our responsibility to inspire others and make an impact.
– We are called by God to act boldly.
– We work together as a sisterhood.
– We show up locally and boldly to make a difference.
– We are standing up for social, climate and economic justice.
– New activities are on the way.

President’s Report
This year, several items were accomplished, are underway or will be beginning soon:
– Our new website was launched (uwfla.org) and is consistently updated.
– A very successful instrument drive was done for the North Rampart Community Center. Special thanks to everyone who donated instruments.
– We began online registration for conference events.
– The Facebook page is functioning well and is being kept up to date.
– T-shirts and canvas bags are still being sold to bring in revenue for our budget. An E-Store is on the horizon to display our items and to raise funds to help our budget.
– We have had two silent auctions that have been very successful. They have helped us to meet our pledges and helped our mission institutions.
– Offerings have been raised during our various events for our mission institutions. Other donations have been given by our local units to provide additional assistance.
– Our UWF districts were reorganized, and the transition is going well. Former units are being revived and new units are coming aboard. We’re very hopeful that better days will be coming.
– I was asked to join the Conference Commission on the Status and Role of Women, and I attended training in Atlanta back in May of this year.
– We had a beautiful social action event in March, chaired by Sue Ottesen, our Spiritual Growth Coordinator.
– Our Conference UWF was one of thirty conferences chosen to receive a license to show the documentary, “Pushout.”
– We had a wonderful Mission u in July that was planned by Ramona Laws, Mission u Dean 2025, Erin Gilpin, Assistant Mission u Dean and Brenda Dickerson, Assistant to the Assistant Mission u Dean.
– Had a wonderful visit to the Dulac Community Center.
– Visited numerous units in our conference.
– This year, our mission institutions needed our help financially and our units came through. I am so appreciative of your help.
– Soul Care retreats will be coming.
– Caring for Our World Garden Club will be organized.

Ladies, we’re up to the challenge! Let’s put hope, faith and love in action. We’re unstoppable if we just continue to work together.
